His Experience

Cody L. Skipper focuses his practice on state and federal investigations and litigation. Cody has served as lead counsel in numerous jury trials in both state and federal court. He is a former state and federal prosecutor who twice received the Assistant Attorney General’s Award for Distinguished Service.

As a Trial Attorney in the Department of Justice’s Organized Crime and Racketeering Section, he investigated and prosecuted criminal enterprises in complex cases throughout the United States pursuant to the Racketeer Influenced and Corrupt Organizations (RICO) Act.

He also lectured and trained attorneys at both national and international seminars, including the National Advocacy Center in South Carolina and the International Association of Prosecutors North American and Caribbean Regional Conference in Bermuda.

Before entering into private practice, Cody served as a contract investigator with the State Department’s Diplomatic Security Service in Venezuela, where he conducted investigations of individuals’ eligibility for access to classified information and suitability for employment at the United States Embassy in Caracas.

Cody is a member of the American Bar Association, Dallas Bar Association, and Bar Association of the Fifth Federal Circuit. He is admitted to practice in all state courts in Texas, the United States District Court for the Middle District of Tennessee, the United States District Courts for the Northern, Eastern, and Southern Districts of Texas, and the United States Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit.
